Boudoir

Before I started photography I hadn’t even heard of boudoir photography as a genre. I worked with a lot of models to begin with because I knew I wanted to work with people, and needed the practice and experience.

I found that my work with these models, when it was in the boudoir/lingerie space (which wasn’t all that often) was a little different to a lot of other photographers. There is a definite “male gaze” that male photographers tend to have, that is just naturally not there to the same degree with my work.

Less “glamour mag”, more “art for adults”.

I find the term “empowering” just a little too cliched, but there’s definitely the sense in my boudoir work that it’s intended for the client to feel amazing, and to be able to recognise themselves in the images.

What may be described as blemishes and imperfections are, for me, an integral part of what makes us, us. The signs of life, if you like. So, there’s no airbrushing away who we are with my boudoir photography, no digitally modifying body proportions, and no AI. It’s just the person in the frame, shot beautifully, with skill and care.

I have an entirely separate sub-brand and website for boudoir photography, which you can find at www.boudoirbyjeffhorne.co.uk.

Here is just a tiny sample of the kind of boudoir images I produce for my clients.
